What can NameSnitch check?
NameSnitch checks domain availability and usernames or handles across supported social, developer, creator, and community services. Choose the services you care about, run a check, and add taken names to your watchlist.
How accurate are availability results?
Results are best-effort snapshots based on registry data and the public responses provided by each service. A result can change at any time, and a service may rate-limit or block a check, so always confirm availability with the registrar or platform before making plans around a name.
How often does NameSnitch recheck my watchlist?
Free watches are checked daily. Pro watches are prioritized for checks as often as every 15 minutes. Actual timing can vary when a registry or platform is temporarily unavailable or limits automated requests.
How will I know when a name becomes available?
We send an email to your verified account address when a watched name appears to become available. The notification includes a direct path to verify and claim it. We never register a name on your behalf.
Do I need an account to check a name?
No. You can run availability checks without an account. You need an account with a verified email address to save a watch and receive notifications.
Can NameSnitch reserve or guarantee a name for me?
No. NameSnitch monitors availability but cannot reserve domains or handles, control third-party platforms, or guarantee that a name will still be free when you try to claim it. Move quickly and confirm directly with the provider.
Why does a check sometimes show Unknown?
Unknown means the service did not return enough reliable information for us to call the name available or taken. This can happen during an outage, a timeout, a rate limit, or when a platform changes its public response. We retry watched names on a later run.
Are registrar links affiliate links?
Some domain registration links may be affiliate links. NameSnitch may earn a commission if you purchase through one, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not change the availability result.
Can I cancel Pro?
Yes. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your account at any time. Your Pro access continues through the end of the current billing period, then your account returns to the free limits.
How do I remove my data?
You can remove watches or delete your account from account settings. For privacy questions or help with a deletion request, email hello@namesnitch.com.
